Is Advanced Muscle Plus worth it?

Worth a look (5.6/10). Advanced Muscle Plus is more open than most supplements we review. The label lists every ingredient with an amount: 2,000 mg of dileucine, 1,500 mg of calcium HMB and 200 mcg of vitamin D per 6-tablet serving. The dileucine dose matches the 2 g used in the published trials, but those trials enrolled young and resistance-trained men, not the over-40 audience the page targets. The HMB dose is half the 3 g a day used in the bed-rest study the page leans on, and the vitamin D is 8,000 IU, double the common upper limit. At $80 for one month, it is expensive for what is two amino compounds and a vitamin.

What we liked

  • Every active ingredient has a printed amount
  • Dileucine dose matches the 2 g used in two published trials
  • Named company and a named naturopathic doctor with credentials described
  • 90-day guarantee promised on the page
  • No proprietary blend

What we didn't

  • Vitamin D is 8,000 IU per serving
  • HMB is half the dose in the study the page cites
  • The 159% claim and the 133 lb claim do not describe the trials accurately
  • Older-adult claims rest on studies in young men and a 10-day bed-rest trial
  • About $80 a month for a single bottle

What is Advanced Muscle Plus?

Advanced Muscle Plus is a tablet supplement from Advanced Bionutritionals, sold for people who want to keep or build muscle as they age. The label sets a serving at 6 tablets, with 30 servings in a 180-tablet bottle. The page says to take it after a workout, or with the first meal on rest days.

It has only three active ingredients: dileucine (a branded two-leucine peptide sold as DL185), calcium beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate (HMB, sold as myHMB) and vitamin D3. The page explains that muscle-building signals weaken after 40 and says the formula "flips the muscle switch" again. That is a marketing description of the mTOR pathway rather than a tested result for this product.

It is sold through Digistore24, and the page names the company, a naturopathic doctor as founder-adviser and a set of research citations. The customer stories are labeled as early reviews from friends and family.

Format: Tablets, 180 per bottle, 6 tablets a day (30 servings). Sold by: Advanced Bionutritionals (sold through Digistore24).

What is on the Advanced Muscle Plus label?

Each row compares what the label or sales page states with what published research used. When an amount is missing, there is nothing to compare, and we say so.

IngredientPer servingWhat research used
DL185 dileucineIn studied range2,000 mg per serving2 g in Paulussen 2021 (single dose, young men) and Hagele 2024 (10 weeks, resistance-trained men)The label dose equals the study dose. Both trials enrolled young or trained men, and only leg press results separated dileucine from placebo in the 10-week trial.
Calcium HMB (myHMB)Below studied dose1,500 mg per serving3 g a day (1.5 g twice daily) in the bed-rest trial the page citesHalf the amount used in Deutz 2013. The label lists calcium at 195 mg and calcium HMB at 1,500 mg, and the calcium figure appears to be the calcium inside the HMB rather than a separate ingredient.
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol)Different strain studied200 mcg (8,000 IU), 1,000% DVThe commonly cited adult upper limit is 100 mcg (4,000 IU) a dayThe dose is double the usual upper limit, without any reason given on the page. High doses are usually monitored by a clinician, and the sales page does not mention the amount.

The label has three active ingredients, each with an amount, plus common fillers (cellulose, silica, coating). The bottle art says 180 capsules while the facts panel says tablets, a small inconsistency.

Do the Advanced Muscle Plus claims hold up?

"DL185 boosts muscle protein synthesis by a staggering 159%"

The trial behind it (Paulussen 2021) compared 2 g of dileucine with 2 g of leucine in 10 young men: 0.075 versus 0.047 %/h. That works out to about 1.6 times leucine, which reads as roughly 59% higher, not a 159% increase.

"People taking DL185 added 133 pounds to their leg press, nearly 3 times the placebo group"

The 10-week trial (Hagele 2024, 34 trained men) did report a leg press gain over placebo, with a 95% confidence interval of 5.8 to 73.2 kg. The 133 lb figure sits inside that wide range, and no other strength or body measure differed significantly.

"Even bedridden adults retained ALL their muscle mass with MyHMB"

Deutz 2013 was 24 healthy older adults for 10 days, using 3 g of HMB a day. It found preserved lean mass but no difference in function, and the authors asked for larger trials. This formula has half that HMB dose.

"Works even without hard exercise" and "up to 3 times faster"

The trials cited paired dileucine with resistance training or measured single-dose protein synthesis. We found nothing showing tripled gains from this tablet, and the page's own advice is to add exercise for better results.

How much does Advanced Muscle Plus really cost?

OptionTotalPer monthShipping
1 bottle$79.95$79.95$0.00 on the order form we checked
3 bottles$214.95$71.65Free US shipping
6 bottles$399.90$66.65Free US shipping

A single bottle is $79.95 and lasts 30 days, so the entry price is about $80 a month. The 3-bottle pack is $214.95 (about $72 a month) and the 6-bottle pack is $399.90 (about $67 a month). All are one-time payments; we saw no subscription option.

For that money you get two amino compounds and vitamin D. Plain vitamin D3 is cheap on its own, so most of the price is the two branded ingredients, dileucine and HMB. The page pushes the 3-bottle pack as most popular and the 6-bottle pack as the biggest saving, which commits $215 to $400 before you know how you respond.

The sales page says returns are accepted within 90 days, while the verified checkout data gave 60 days. Either way, you send the bottles back at your own cost. Try one bottle first if you want to test it.

The sales page lists free US shipping on the 3-bottle and 6-bottle packs. The Digistore24 order form for the single bottle showed shipping and handling of $0.00 when we checked in August 2026.

Can you get a refund on Advanced Muscle Plus?

60-day window. The Digistore24 checkout data we verified gives a 60-day return window. The sales page and the order form text both go further and promise a 90-day guarantee, with a full refund if you return the bottles, empty or not, and you pay return shipping. Because the numbers differ, count on 60 days and ask the vendor to confirm 90 in writing. Refunds go through the vendor or Digistore24 support.

Step by step: find the Digistore24 order confirmation email, open Digistore24 support and look up the order at digistore24.com/support and ask for a refund in writing. Our Digistore24 refund guide covers returns, extra offers and auto-ship.

Which red flags did we find?

  • Vitamin D at 8,000 IU200 mcg per serving is double the commonly used upper limit of 4,000 IU, and the sales page does not draw attention to it.
  • HMB at half the trial doseThe bed-rest study used 3 g of HMB a day. The label provides 1.5 g.
  • 159% claim looks like a ratio mistakeThe published figures work out to roughly 1.6 times the leucine result, not a 159% gain.
  • Young men studied, older buyers targetedBoth dileucine trials enrolled young or resistance-trained men. The page speaks to people in their 60s, 70s and 90s.
  • Friends-and-family testimonialsThe page describes its customer stories as early reviews from friends and family, and uses stories like "40-pound increase" that no study supports.

Who should buy Advanced Muscle Plus, and who should skip it?

It may suit you if

  • Adults already lifting who want a fully disclosed label they can compare against the published dileucine and HMB doses
  • Buyers who accept the price and want an option with a named company and a longer refund window

Skip it if

  • You already take vitamin D and cannot easily rule out exceeding the 4,000 IU daily upper limit
  • You expect strength gains without training, because the trials paired dileucine with exercise
  • You want the HMB dose used in the older-adult research, which is twice what is in the bottle

Does dileucine really build muscle?

Two small trials found dileucine raised muscle protein synthesis more than leucine in young men and improved leg press strength over placebo in trained men. Neither was in older adults, and results on other measures were not significant.
