Refunds

Do I ask ClickBank or the seller for a refund? Who to contact first

Start with ClickBank at clkbank.com. Go to the seller directly only if the refund window has passed, you must return a physical product, or a refund through ClickBank failed.

Ask ClickBank first, through its order lookup at clkbank.com, not through the seller's website. ClickBank's help center says that is where you request a refund for a product bought through the platform, and that most products have a 60-day refund period. You go to the seller directly only in a few cases: the refund period has passed, you need to return a physical product, or a refund request through ClickBank failed.

The rest of this guide shows what to have ready, what the steps look like, and how real terms in our weight management reviews can change the details.

Why does the order go through ClickBank and not the seller?

When you buy through ClickBank, the charge on your bank statement appears as CLKBANK rather than the product's brand. ClickBank's help center describes CLKBANK.COM as the customer service site for products sold on its platform: you can look up an order, request a refund, cancel a subscription and chat with a representative from there.

ClickBank's return policy also sets the structure. It says the platform will, at its discretion, allow the return or replacement of a product within 60 days of purchase, and that sellers can set their own return and cancellation policy for each product, including windows that run longer than 60 days. Sellers must handle return requests through tickets in their ClickBank account, and sellers that neglect those tickets can face action up to account suspension.

So the answer is not "ClickBank or the seller". The ticket starts on ClickBank's side, and the seller's policy decides the window and, for physical goods, what you send back.

What do you need before you start?

  • The email address you used at checkout. ClickBank asks for it in the lookup.
  • One more identifier. The order number from your receipt, the last four digits of the card, or the zip code.
  • Access to that email inbox. ClickBank's current help article says it sends a verification code or link before showing the order details.
  • The receipt email. It holds the order number, and it is the proof of the purchase date.
  • A list of every order. Extra offers accepted after checkout can show up as separate orders.

If you cannot find the receipt, search your inbox for "ClickBank" and also check spam. Our ClickBank refund guide covers this in more detail.

What are the steps on clkbank.com?

  1. Open CLKBANK.COM and use the order lookup with your email and one other identifier.
  2. Verify with the code that ClickBank emails you, if prompted.
  3. Select the order you want to refund, then choose the refund request.
  4. Pick a reason. If none of the listed topics fits, choose Other and explain in the text box.
  5. Send the ticket and keep the ticket number.
  6. Cancel any subscription in the same visit if the product bills you repeatedly.

Note the last point. ClickBank's policy says a cancellation stops future payments but does not itself generate a return. For recurring products, a return can cover the most recent payment, and more than one payment if it falls inside the seller's return period. A return on a recurring product also cancels the subscription.

When do you contact the seller instead?

There are four situations where the seller becomes your next step.

  1. The window has passed. ClickBank says the refund request option is not displayed after the refund period. In that case it says you must contact the seller directly, using the email address or phone number in the Seller Information section of the order details. ClickBank's policy says a customer asking after the seller's period must work directly with the seller.
  2. You are returning a physical product. ClickBank's help article says to package the items as the seller's return policy requires, include your full name, order number and email address, ship it to the address the seller gives, and keep the tracking number. Return shipping is typically not covered.
  3. A PayPal refund through ClickBank fails. ClickBank says it will mark the ticket as failed, close it and direct you to the seller. If the seller does not respond, it encourages you to contact PayPal.
  4. You need technical help with the product itself. That is the seller's job, not the payment platform's.

Also expect partial refunds on some digital products. ClickBank's policy says that when you keep a digital product, it reserves the right to issue a return for less than the full purchase price.

What do seller terms look like in real weight loss offers?

Seller terms vary a lot, which is why you should read the order form before paying. A few examples from the weight management category:

  • The CitrusBurn review records a 180-day, no-questions-asked guarantee on both the sales page and the ClickBank order form, so the two sources agree.
  • The Ignitra review records a 180-day guarantee that we confirmed on the real ClickBank checkout page for the 6-bottle bundle.
  • The ResveraBurn review records a 60-day guarantee on both the sales page and the order form, but the sales page adds "less shipping and handling," which the standard ClickBank form text does not mention. If you buy, ask what will be deducted.
  • The Okinawa Flat Belly Tonic review records a 90-day guarantee stated twice with different fine print: one version says refunds come within 48 hours of the return and less shipping and handling, while the footer version says to email for a refund and return the product "if possible".
  • The ElectroSlim review records a 365-day guarantee, with refunds processed after empty jars are returned to the company.

In each case the ClickBank ticket is still where you start, but the seller's terms decide whether you must ship containers back and whether shipping fees are subtracted. Save a screenshot of the guarantee text on the day you buy.

What if the seller does not respond?

Do not wait silently. First, reply on your existing ticket with the order number and the date of your first request. For PayPal purchases requested through CLKBANK, ClickBank says that if the seller does not issue or address the refund before the ticket expires, typically within two business days, ClickBank will complete the refund and close the ticket.

Next, keep the paper trail: the receipt, the ticket number, the screenshot of the guarantee, and your return tracking number if you shipped anything. As a last step you can contact your card issuer or PayPal, but try ClickBank support first so the order status stays consistent. Our general notes are in the refund guide, and this is not legal advice. The terms on your own order form take priority.

How long until the money appears?

ClickBank says refunds typically post back to the account within 3 to 5 business days for most card payments, and can take longer for international transactions. PayPal refunds generally appear within 24 to 48 hours. You also get an email notification once the funds are processed, usually within 1 to 2 days after the bank processes the refund. For physical products, ClickBank's help article says the seller processes the refund after it receives the return.

FAQ

Do I ask ClickBank or the seller for a refund?

Start with ClickBank at CLKBANK.COM. Go to the seller directly if the refund window has passed, if you must return a physical item, or if a PayPal refund through ClickBank failed.

What if I do not have my order number?

ClickBank says you can use the zip code or the last four digits of the card used for the purchase, together with your email address, to look up the order.

Does cancelling a subscription get my money back?

No. ClickBank says a cancellation only stops future charges. A refund is a separate request, and for a recurring product it covers the most recent payment, or more if the seller's return period allows.

Can the seller refund me after 60 days?

Yes, if the seller's own policy allows it. ClickBank says sellers may set longer windows and may request a return on a customer's behalf for a purchase up to 365 days old. Ask the seller directly and keep the reply in writing.
