How to request a ClickBank refund, step by step

Go to CLKBANK.COM, look up your order and send a refund request. Most products have a 60-day window, and the button disappears when it ends.

To request a ClickBank refund, go to CLKBANK.COM, look up your order, choose the refund option, pick a reason and send the request. ClickBank's own help pages say most products have a 60-day refund period, and that the refund option stops being displayed once that period has passed. Start with the receipt email, because it holds the order number.

This guide follows ClickBank's published support steps, adds what to write and what to keep, and shows how several of our reviews describe the refund terms behind the buttons. Terms on your own order form take priority, and this is not legal advice.

Where do you request a ClickBank refund?

ClickBank's help center says a purchase made through ClickBank shows up as "CLKBANK*" on your bank statement, and that CLKBank.com is the customer service site for products bought from ClickBank sellers. You use it to find the product, contact the seller, request a refund, cancel a subscription or get technical help.

So the place to start is not the seller's sales page or a support email you find on it. Start with the order lookup at CLKBANK.COM, and use the seller's contact details only when the help pages tell you to.

What do you need before you start?

Gather these first:

  • The receipt email. Search your inbox for "ClickBank" or "CLKBANK". The order number is printed on the receipt.
  • The email address used at checkout. ClickBank's current portal instructions ask for that email plus one more identifier, such as the order number or the last four digits of the payment card, and then send a verification code or link to your inbox.
  • The card statement line. If the receipt is missing, ClickBank's older refund article says you can use the zip code or the last four digits of the card instead of an order number.
  • A list of every order. An extra offer accepted after checkout can be a separate order. Note each one, and see our ClickBank refund guide for how we describe that.

How do you request the refund, step by step?

  1. Go to CLKBANK.COM and use the order lookup.
  2. Enter your details and click the button to look up the order. If the portal asks, check your email for the verification code and enter it.
  3. Select the order you want to refund and click the request-a-refund button.
  4. Under the ticket type, choose the refund option.
  5. Pick the topic that best describes your reason from the dropdown. If none fits, choose "Other" and explain in the text box.
  6. Send the request and save the ticket number or the confirmation email.

ClickBank's article notes that if the refund period has passed, the refund request option will not be displayed. To ask for a refund after the period, you must contact the seller directly using the email or phone number in the Seller Information section of the order details.

What should you write in the request?

Keep it short and factual. A message like this works:

Order number 12345678, purchased on the date shown on my receipt, email address on the order. I am requesting a refund under the stated refund policy. Please confirm the refund and tell me whether I need to return any product. If this order includes a recurring payment, please cancel it as well.

Say what you want in one sentence, give the order number and ask one question about returns. Avoid arguments about the product or the seller.

What if the product is physical?

ClickBank's help page for shipped orders says to package all items as the seller's return policy requires, include your full name, ClickBank order number and email address, ship to the address the seller gives you and keep the tracking number. It adds that once the seller receives the return, the seller processes the refund according to its policy, and that return shipping costs are typically not covered.

That is why the refund terms on the sales page matter. Our reviews record the fine print:

  • The Tea Burn review notes that the 60-day promise requires returning the product, including empty bottles, and that the refund is given less shipping and handling.
  • The KeySlim Drops review notes that a refund requires shipping the bottles to a listed return address.
  • The Java Burn review notes that the page allows a return even if the pouches are empty, with the refund issued less shipping and handling.

Before you order anything physical, read the refund line on the review so you know what a refund will cost you in postage.

What if the window on the page and the window on the order form differ?

Trust the order form and the receipt email. The Morning Fat Melter review found a sales page promising 60 days while the ClickBank order form stated 30, and the Breathe review found banners promising 180 days and an FAQ saying 90. In both reviews we scored the shorter, more specific window.

Count from the purchase date and file early. If you are close to the deadline, submit the request first and gather anything else afterward.

How long does the refund take, and how do you cancel repeat billing?

According to ClickBank's help center, refunds typically post back to your account within 3 to 5 business days for most payment methods, including credit and debit cards. International refunds can take longer. PayPal refunds generally appear within 24 to 48 hours. For a same-day refund, the card authorization is canceled rather than settled, and your bank may take 3 to 5 business days to release the hold. You should also receive an email notice, typically 1 to 2 days after the bank processes the refund.

If you were signed up for recurring billing, cancel it as well. ClickBank's subscription article says to use the order lookup, open the order details, choose Get Support, enter "Cancellation Request", pick a reason and send, and that the cancellation will be processed within one business day unless you revoke or change your request. Our review method explains how we flag recurring charges and add-ons in each review.

What if you paid with PayPal or the request stalls?

ClickBank says that if you paid with PayPal, you may request a refund through CLKBank or through PayPal, and that if either issues the refund, the refund is complete. If the refund fails, ClickBank tells the seller and directs you to contact the seller directly, and it encourages contacting PayPal if the seller does not respond.

If your request stalls, reply on the same ticket with the order number and the date of your first request. As a last step, you can look at your card issuer. The FTC's consumer advice on disputing charges says billing errors should be reported in writing within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent, and that for a complaint about the quality of something you bought, you must have tried to resolve the dispute with the seller first to use the federal protection. Check the FTC page for the other conditions.

FAQ

How long do you have to request a ClickBank refund?

ClickBank's help page says most products have a refund period of 60 days. Some sellers state longer, and some products state shorter, so read the order form and receipt for your purchase.

Do I contact the seller or ClickBank first?

Use the order lookup at CLKBANK.COM first. Contact the seller directly when the refund option no longer appears, or when the help pages tell you to for a physical return.

How long until the money is back?

ClickBank says refunds typically post within 3 to 5 business days for most payment methods and within 24 to 48 hours for PayPal, with longer times possible for international payments.

Will I be charged again while I wait?

Only if you have a recurring order. Ask to cancel it in the same ticket, or use the cancellation request steps, which ClickBank says are completed within one business day.
